Felicitation of Disabled Cricketers during 'Hello Kolkata FAIR'
Shaikh Murad, Co-Founder and Director of APT (Applied Professional Training), a very well reputed institute training professionals for tomorrow in cabin crew operations, airport and hospitality management, was the Guest of Honour of 'Hello Kolkata FAIR', held on 30th June at Bangur Multa Mancha.
'Hello Kolkata FAIR' is a Fusion of Cultural Programs for all ages and Exhibition-cum-Sale.
It was whole-heartedly supported by 'Kolkata Alor Disha', a NGO formed by Amit Basu Roychowdhury. The NGO presented tokens of appreciation and gifts to talented physically handicapped cricketers, led by the eminent disabled cricket personality Bidyut.
The students of 'Institute of Innovative Creation' (owned by Shelly Dutta and Mandira Chakraborty) presented an awesome Fashion Show.,
The proceeds of the FAIR will be channelised for socio-cultural welfare, informed Asish Basak, Editor-Director, 'Hello Kolkata'.
International Seminar on Science, Culture and Spirituality by The Global Academy
The Global Academy had organised an International Seminar on Science, Culture and Spirituality and an Award presentation ceremony on 23rd June at Birla Academy, Kolkata, under the chairmanship of Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal (Founder of The Global Academy).
Eminent speakers such as Prof. Dr. Myat Sein (from Myanmar), Prof. Subhas Chandra Saha (ex-VC), Dr. Arunjyoti Bhikkhu (Buddhist monk), Bishop Raju (ex-Bishop of Kolkata) and many more renowned personalities spoke on the relation of science and spirituality in respect of values, ethics and cultural heritage in order to keep our lives fit and fine.
Special Awards were also presented to distinguished personalities in the field of Art, Culture, Music, Science, Medicine etc.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Sri Chandan Agarwal.
Dabur Odomos Pledges to Make India 'Dengue Free'
Moving forward on its mission to make India Dengue Free, Odomos -- India's most preferred personal application mosquito repellant brand from the House of Dabur -- today announced the launch of its mega initiative, #Making India Dengue Free. Under this initiative, Odomos will be reaching out to over 10 lakh people across the country, educating them about prevention from mosquito bites and distributing free samples of Odomos mosquito repellant creams to protect themselves from dengue-causing mosquitoes this Monsoon.
The campaign would also cover students and teachers in schools across the country. Flagging off the initiative in Kolkata, Dabur conducted an awareness session amongst more than 200 kids from Hira Lal Primary Government School in the city to educate the students, teachers as well as parents about effective prevention from Dengue causing mosquitoes. The special awareness session was conducted by a leading medical practitioner in the city, Dr Dhrubajyoti Halder, informed Vineet Jain, Dabur India Ltd Category Head-Home Care.
"Barsha Boron" at Bhubaneswar
'Gitanjali' and 'Delight Entertain....' (two of the leading cultural organizations in Bhubaneswar) jointly staged "Barsha Boron" on 30th June at Hotel Suriyansh. In spite of massive rain in the same evening, the auditorium was almost full with the hard core music lovers of Bhubaneswar.
The program began with a series of Bengali programs (songs, recitations, geeti alekhho, sruti natak, etc) presented by "Team Geetanjali", performed by Mowha Maharana, Indira Dey, Priya Sengupta, Radha Basu, Suparna Banerjee. Master Priyodarshi Mahit, Pranab Kumar Dey, Dr. Sajalendu Malakar and Parmal Malakar. Radha Bose played the role of the anchor while the Club Secretary T.K. Raha ensured that perfection was never compromised in any sector.
This was soon followed by a musical fiesta with Arun Mathan (Delight Entertain..) at the helm. The singers included Swapna Patra, Tanushree Jena, Master Nilu and Arun Mathan, supported by some of the eminent musicians of the city like Kishore Nayak, Girija and Sanjoy.
The cultural event was followed by a well-spread cocktail & dinner.
'Joy Maa Durga' : An impossible turned to possible by Atul Chandra Sarkar
Lucknow based veteran lawyer turned author Atul Chandra Sarkar exhibited the guts to do an end to end English translation of Rishi Markandeya’s ‘Durga Saptashati’ under the cover title of ‘Joy Maa Durga’.
The book, published by Literoma, is released at Midsummer Book Exhibition in Kolkata recently. The book is not just a collection of hymns but also an authentic transliteration of the original Sanskrit verses. The best part of the book is its pictorial representation of nine forms of Devi Durga.
The cover depicts Mahishasur Mardini form of Durga Maa against a blood red background which is not only captivating but also a classy art. Appreciate the author’s tremendous attempt to transliterate such a Sanskrit marvel to simple English verses so that any non-Sanskrit reader can easily take a feel of ancient Hindu mythology.
For Better Drinking Water
To serve contamination free water to the Nation with the help of these three technologies CSIR-CMERI has signed an agreement with M/s. Sarvo Technologies Limited of Haryana and ISW Industries, Howrah, these two will implement the technologies across the country.
On 2nd July at Calcutta Press Club this signing ceremony was held and the ceremony was graced by number of eminent guests like Prof. (Dr.) Harish Hirani, Director, CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur; Dr. Biswajit Ruj, Sr. Principal Scientist, CSIR-CMERI; Dr. Priyabrata Banerjee, Sr. Scientist, CSIR-CMERI, Dr. Anjali Chatterjee, Sr. Principal Scientist & Head of Business Development Group, CSIR-CMERI, Mr. Ajoy Roy, Sr. Technical Officer, Business Development Group & Head Media – Publication Group, Mr. Asit Kumar Sau, Senior Technician, Business Development Group, Col. Promotion of Communal Harmony
The International Human Rights Council had organised a Conference on International Communal Harmony and Peace in view of the rising intolerance and religious extremism on 29th June at Press Club, Kolkata. It was attended by a host of dignitaries like Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quadari (descendant of Hazrat Ali), Dr. Arunjyoti Bhikkhu, Swami Sarodatmananda Maharaj, Father Devraj Fernandes, Balijit Singh Grewal, Mani Maharaj and several other eminent personalities cutting across all religious lines. Moinul Haque Molla, President, IHRC presided over the function.

Obituary
Ramen Pandey, son of Late Dr. Jagannath pandey, expired at the age of 57 on 29th June at 10:45 am after massive cardiac arrest.
For last many years, he has been associated with various trade union association at levels, holding important positions. He was the President of lNTUC, West Bengal State Branch, Secretary of INTUC National Committee, Chairman of State Productivity Council (Trg.& Dev.), Govt. of West Bengal and Member of Trustees in various organisations including Employees Provident Fund organisation & Employees State Insurance Corporation, Govt. of India. He was also the Vice-President of Union Network International (UNl) - Asia & Pacific Regional Organisation Commerce (Singapore) & Titular Member of International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) - Asia Pacific Regional Organisation - Human & Trade Union Rights Committee.

'Hello Kolkata FAIR' is a Fusion of Cultural Programs for all ages and Exhibition-cum-Sale, being held on 29 & 30 June, 10 am - 9 pm, at 'Kolokakuli', Bangur Mukta Mancha.
'Hello Kolkata FAIR' has display-cum-sale of various items produced by self-help groups, house-wives, rural artisans, etc., along with song, dance, recitation, fashion show, auctions for charity, etc. The participating partners include Chocoholics (Priyanka Shaw), Classics and Sohag (Sangita Mondal and Saheli Das), Institute of Innovative Creation (Shelly Dutta and Mandira Chakraborty), Kakoli's Creations (Kakoli Chatterjee), Kanaklata (Pinky Mondal), Literoma (Reetwika Banerjee), Gift Items (Meenakshan), Monalisa Boutique (Monalisa Chatterjee), Sajer Bou (Rimpi Bishi), Sree Guru Boutique (Subhasree Dutta), Seven Yards (Bedashruti) and Sahelee (Dr. Saheli Roychowdhury).
The social welfare partners include Tapsil Jati Adibasi Praktan Sainik Krishi Bikash Shilpa Kendra, Kolkata Alor Disha (Amit Roychowdhury) and Adya Ma Seva Samity (Narayan Majumder),
The program was well-coordinated by Sukanya and Harsh.
Riddhi Mondal, Sukanya Roy and Suman Sen enthralled the audience with their super dance numbers. Chief Guest Ms. Jharna Sarkar (President - Apu Siksha o Paribesh Unnayan Foundation, Bangladeshi NGO) recited her own poem. Another member of NGO, Nirjhar sang beautifully, Tabla expert Syamantak Mishra spoke a few words of praise for the participants of 'Hello Kolkata Fair'.

মুক্তি পেল বাংলা ছবি 'এবার শল্যজিত' এবং 'পাঁচ কয়েদি' -র পোস্টার আর ট্রেলার
টলিউডে জোড়া সুখবর! মুক্তি পেল যুগ্ম পরিচালক তুহিন সিনহা ও রাহুল পরিচালিত বাংলা ছবি 'এবার শল্যজিত' এবং অপরদিকে পরিচালক টুটুল ব্যানার্জি-র পরিচালিত বাংলা ছবি 'পাঁচ কয়েদি' -র পোস্টার এবং ট্রেলার। শুত্রুবার কলকাতায় অবস্থিত গড়ফা মেইন রোডের এক অনুষ্ঠান গৃহে আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন দুই ছবির পরিচালক তুহিন সিনহা, রাহুল, টুটুল ব্যানার্জি সহ সঞ্জয় সিনহা, সবিতা পাল, পায়েল , ঈপ্সিতা ভট্টাচার্য্য, মৌসুমী সিং, লোকেশ ঘোষ, দেবা, সান্তনা বোস এবং অন্যান্য কলাকুশলীরা।
'এবার শল্যজিত' ছবির সংক্ষিপ্ত কাহিনী এরকম- ভোরে শরীর চর্চা করার সময় পরিচয় হয় সৌম এবং শল্যজিতের । এদের দুজনের মধ্যে যখন বন্ধুত্ব জমে উঠেছে ঠিক তখনই খুন হয় সৌম। পোস্টমর্টেম রিপোর্টে জানা যায় বিষক্রিয়ায় মৃত্যু হয়েছে সৌম্যর। এরপর গল্পে আসে এক নতুন মোড়। সৌম্যর মৃত্যুর রহস্যের দায়িত্ব নেয় গোয়েন্দা শল্যজিত। এই খুনের পিছনে রয়েছে কোন রহস্য ? জানতে হলে আর কিছুদিন অপেক্ষা করতে হবে দর্শকদের। খুব শীঘ্রই সমস্ত প্রেক্ষাগৃহে মুক্তি পেতে চলেছে রহস্যে ভরপুর বাংলা ছবি 'এবার শল্যজিত'।
'ফেলুদা', 'ব্যোমকেশ', 'শবর','কাকাবাবু'-র পর আবার বড় পর্দায় আসছে গোয়েন্দা কেন্দ্রিক ছবি। টান টান উত্তেজনাময় এই ছবির মুখ্য চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেছেন সৌমিত্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়, মাধবী মুখোপাধ্যায়, সুব্রত ব্যানার্জি, সঞ্জয় সিনহা,। এছাড়াও এই ছবিতে অভিনয় করেছেন মৌসুমী সিং,সবিতা রায়, দিব্যেন্দু শেখর দাস, প্রীতম, পায়েল, ঈপ্সিতা ভট্টাচার্য্য। গোয়েন্দা চরিত্রে নয় এই ছবিতে এবার খলনায়কের ভূমিকায় দেখা গেছে অভিনেতা সৌমিত্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়কে। ছবির কাহিনী এবং চিত্রনাট্য লিখেছেন যুগ্ম পরিচালক তুহিন সিনহা ও রাহুল। সঙ্গীত পরিচালনা করেছেন নির্ভীক গোস্বামী এবং প্রযোজনা করেছেন সঞ্জয় সিনহা। চিত্রগ্রহণের দায়িত্ব সামলেছেন বিশ্বজিৎ ও রবি এবং সম্পাদনা করেছেন উত্তম রায়। এছাড়াও এই ছবির শিল্প নির্দেশনায় রাজীব পাল। উত্তরবঙ্গ, সিকিম এবং কলকাতায় হয়েছে এই ছবির শ্যুটিং।
অপরদিকে বাংলা ছবি 'পাঁচ কয়েদি'-র সংক্ষিপ্ত কাহিনী হল- পাঁচজন নির্দোষ ছেলে রাজনৈতিক নেতাদের চক্রান্তে জেলে যায়। আর সেখানেই গড়ে ওঠে তাঁদের বন্ধুত্ব। এরইমধ্যে তাঁরা এক সময় জেল থেকে পালায়। জেল থেকে পালিয়ে ওই পাঁচবন্ধু নতুন করে আবার জীবন শুরু করতে পারবে নাকি অপেক্ষা করে রয়েছে এক অজানা বিপদ? জানতে হলে দর্শকদের অপেক্ষা করতে হবে আর কিছুদিন । খুব শীঘ্রই সমস্ত সিনেমাহলে মুক্তি পেতে চলেছে চক্র প্রোডাকশন প্রযোজিত পরিচালক টুটুল ব্যানার্জি-র পরিচালিত বাংলা ছবি 'পাঁচ কয়েদি'। এই ছবিতে মুখ্য চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেছেন দিকপাল অভিনেতা সৌমিত্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়, জনপ্রিয় নির্দেশক অঞ্জন চৌধুরীর কন্যা অভিনেত্রী রীনা চৌধুরী, লোকেশ ঘোষ, দেবা । এছাড়াও এই ছবিতে অভিনয় করেছেন বোধিসত্ত্ব মজুমদার , রোমেন রায়চৌধুরী, সান্তনা বোস, নবমিতা, দেবরাজ রায়, ভোলা তামাং,রূপ, শুভ এবং বাবলি। ছবির কাহিনী লিখেছেন পরিচালক টুটুল ব্যানার্জি স্বয়ং। ছবির সুরকার নির্ভীক গোস্বামী এবং গীতিকার ওসমান গণি ও সূর্য চ্যাটার্জি। সম্পাদনা করেছেন উত্তম রায়। ছবির চিত্রগ্রহণের দায়িত্ব সামলেছেন শংকর গুহ ও প্রিয়রঞ্জন বেহেড়া । এছাড়াও ছবির নেপথ্য কণ্ঠে পাপিয়া, দীপিকা ও মোহিত এবং শিল্প নির্দেশনা দিয়েছেন শতদল মিত্র।
যুগ্ম পরিচালক তুহিন সিনহা ও রাহুল পরিচালিত 'এবার শল্যজিত' এবং পরিচালক টুটুল ব্যানার্জি-র পরিচালিত 'পাঁচ কয়েদি' সিনেপ্রেমীদের কতটা মন জয় করতে পারে সেটাই এখন দেখার।
