Screening of Short Films


Owlz Neck Studio, helmed by Sireesha Kadiyala, Madhu Singhee & Sushila Jain is perhaps the only all women owned film production house in the city. On 27th April eve, they showcased two of their latest films, 'Meal' and 'Laali', both directed by Abhiroop Basu. Aakash Ghoshal is one of the producers of Laali.
Meal is an internationally acclaimed 11 minute dialogue-less film, portraying a dysfunctional family which sits together for their customary morning meal amidst communal tension outside. Starring Adil Hussain, Ratnabali  Bhattacharjee, Arun Mukhopadhyay, Avishek Jain  
‘Laali’ is a 40 min medium length film depicting a lonely man falling apart in his mundane routine, till one day a woman comes and changes his life forever, only in this story the lonely man is an istri-wala (iron-man) and the woman is not actually a human being but a flowing red dress of the finest velvet. A man. A Dress. An ensuing relationship. Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ekavalli Khanna. It was made in the first half of 2019 and has just finished post-productions.
Five Mad Men, the very popular lounge at Sector V, hosted the screening along with the interactions.

Poster launch for 'VOTE GEETI'

28th April eve witnessed the launch of poster of  'VOTE GEETIby 'Hello Kolkata'. It is a NON-political audio-video album directed by Asish Basak.  
  'VOTE GEETI'  upholds the fact that VOTE is an inseparable part of our civic society, informed Jayashree Khara and Boby Mondal, Producer- Innomania Motion Pictures, the principal associate partner of the album.
   The AV album has lyrics by Ratan Guha, music by Biswajit Das and songs by Ms. Swasti Chatterjee, Dr. Asok Ray, Biswajit Das and Sukanya Roy (in chorus).   A host of talented actors are in the video, including Boby, Devsmita, Jayashree, Nilanjana, Sam & others.

Para-Medical Certificates


IBMS had presented Para-Medical certificates to their students Gobinda Mal, Animul Sk,  Afsana Parvin, Sabnam Parvin and Ismotara Khatun.  The felicitation took place during a colourful cultural program at K. P. Ghosh Memorial, Sealdah on 28th April afternoon in presence of  IBMS Directors Dr. Arun Kumar and Asalam Ahamad, singer Radha Das and other dignitaries. FELINE CONVENTION CREATES AWARENESS

The Feline Club of India’s Kolkata Chapter had organised a Feline Convention on Sunday, 28th April, 2019 at 101/5 S.N.Banerjee Road.
The Convention witnessed awareness camp with multiple experts speaking on issues relating to proper care of cats and their grooming, while also sharing more insights on their behaviour and development.
    According to Mr. Tarun Gupta of Animel Planet, which played an important role in organising the convention, "A camp was enabled on free registration of domestic cats, which made owners to get Breed Authentication Certificate, Free of Cost Microchipping, Free Vaccination, Admission to all FCI Cat Shows."
  The event witnessed a huge turnout of Feline Enthusiast and Owners for this one of its kind convention that was very educative and informative.

লায়ন্স ক্লাব অফ ক্যালকাটা-র এক অন্য নববর্ষ - 'লেটস সেলিব্রেট নববর্ষ'

 লায়ন্স ক্লাব অফ ক্যালকাটা -র নববর্ষ মানে একটু অন্যরকমের ছোঁয়া।  রবিবার কলকাতার বানতলায় নবোদয় এডুকেশনাল সেন্টারে লায়ন্স ক্লাব অফ ক্যালকাটা -র সঙ্গে ছিল প্রায় ১২০জন দুস্থ এবং পথশিশু। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন অভিনেত্রী সুকন্যা দত্ত, লায়ন্স ক্লাব অফ ক্যালকাটা-র প্রাক্তন প্রেসিডেন্ট তথা চেয়ারম্যান শ্রী দিলীপ ঝাঝেরিয়া, বর্তমান প্রেসিডেন্ট শ্রী আনন্দ তিওয়ারি, গ্রুমার এবং কোচ শ্রীমতি দীপালি আহেলানী, শ্রীমতি অঞ্জু ঝাঝেরিয়া সহ  প্রমুখ।   
    এদিন  শিশুদের জন্য ছিল  ভরপুর বিনোদনের ব্যবস্থা। ছিল কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতা, অল উইমেন ব্যান্ড 'সোল অফ টিউন্স' -এর    মিউজিক্যাল পারফরমেন্স, শিশুদের জন্য লাইভ কাউন্টারে হট চাইনিজ লাঞ্চ। এছাড়াও অন্যান্য শিল্পীদের বিনোদনমূলক অনুষ্ঠান এবং শিশুদের সঙ্গীত এবং নৃত্যের পরিবেশন। নাচ, গানের পাশাপাশি শিশুদের জন্য ছিল বিভিন্ন ধরণের উপহার সামগ্রী।            -মহুয়া চক্রবর্তী, Hello Kolkata Network

Singer MANJARI (from Australia) features in ZODIAK MUZIK Audio Album with RUPANKAR

Hello Kolkata Bureau:- Manjari Banerjee is an Australian singer who originally hails from India. She was born in Siliguri and started humming HINDI Movie Songs since the age of four. Her father took her to a Classical Music Teacher Shri Kanan Karmakar at the age of six. Soon she grew up to be his favourite pupil. At the age of twelve, she passed Sangeet Prabhakar and Bisharadh at the age of fourteen with Distinctions from Prayag Music College, Allahabad. Her parents were her inspiration. She lost her father at the age of 15 and shifted to Kolkata with her mother. Beside her studies she started learning Classical Music from Shri Debiranjan Banerjee. She also learnt Rabindrasangeet, Modern  Bengali Songs, Nazrulgeeti, from Shri Chinmay Chatterjee, Shri Chandidas Mal and Smt. Purabi Dutta. 
   Manjari Banerjee graduated from Jadavpur University, Kolkata from the Department of International Relations and also did her MBA in Foreign Trade Management from the Institute of Foreign Trade Management.   During this time she learnt music from Music Directors Shri Ajay Das and Shri Abhijit Banerjee. She started her music career by singing in various stage shows in West Bengal and other parts of India. She did her first Playback singing in a Bengali Movie named “SONAR PAIRA”; directed by her maternal uncle Lt. Mriganka Shekhar Roy.  
   Manjari Banerjee got married in the ear 1997 and shifted to Abu Dhabi where her music practice was limited with an electronic Tanpura only, that’s too during cooking. She used to perform in Bengali Association Programs at Abu Dhabi. In the year 2011, she immigrated to Australia and with the inspiration of her husband, she revived her musical performances once again. She has won many hearts all across the globe through her performances on YouTube. She can sing in six different Languages. Her followers are increasing day by day in various social media i.e. Facebook Page: Saaz, Instagram, Twitter, SOUNDCLOUD and YouTube.
  Recently Manjari Banerjee was invited by Zodiak Muzik to sing a few Tagore songs in their forthcoming audio album with eminent singers RUPANKAR and others. This album will be available on Gana.com, Saavn Music, Wynk Music, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Jio Music, etc. Album will also be available on YouTube soon. 
   Managing Director of Zodiak Muzik, Mr. Ashim Chakraborty has confirmed during an interaction that he is very pleased with Manjari's performance in the album and will also invite her during forthcoming albums with Raghab Chatterjee & Monomoy Bhattacharya. He has also confirmed that MANJARI will sing for their forthcoming Bengali Movie too. He also wished Manjari a glorious Musical Career.

25 Glorious Years of Ruby General Hospital.


On 25th April, 2019, Ruby General Hospital has stepped into its 25th year of service to the community. Ruby Hospital was founded by Dr. Kamal K. Dutta, who graduated from R. G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata and went to the US in 1976. Today, Ruby General Hospital is a 278 bedded, NABH accredited and ISO 9001 : 2015 certified multispecialty hospital. In the year 2015, Ruby General hospital has come up with Ruby Cancer Centre, providing state of the art affordable cancer care along with preventive, medical, surgical, radiation, and palliative oncology services. It is also the first NABH accredited cancer centre in West Bengal. 
While, stepping into the 25th year, Dr. Kamal K. Dutta, Chairman and Managing Director has announced a further expansion of one lac square feet area which will include an additional 250 beds. An organ Transplant unit has also been planned including a Bone Marrow transplant unit.
Ruby General Hospital has also further announced to strengthen its academic wing. In addition to the Ruby School of Nursing, several courses will be introduced shortly, namely, DNB in another five specialties, Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM), Indian Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (IDCCN), Post MBBS Certificate course, Paramedical courses in four specialties.
 Dr. Kamal K. Dutta, CMD, Ruby General Hospital had made a special announcement and launched a special scholarship program ‘DIPTI’, wherein, Rs. 15 lakhs will be awarded annually to the deserving meritorious students. Every year 20 post secondary students from economically weak background will be selected and provided a monthly scholarship for supporting their Class 11 & 12 studies.

67th Anniversary of Khelaghar Nursery School






Khelaghar Nursery School, a popular edu hub of Howrah, had celebrated their 67th anniversary with great fanfare on 24th April at Howrah Sarat Sadan-2.
   The cultural eve showcased great performances by the school students, teachers and staff members, along with experienced theatre artists.  
  The program was well-coordinated by Mr. Subhankar Mukherjee, Secretary of 'Khelaghar'. During this colourful eve, eminent actor Shakti Dey inaugurated ‘ 'Khelaghar Natyacharcha’, an initiative to promote Drama.  
   On behalf of the organizers, people from various sectors of the society were felicitated. Several dramas, songs and dances made the show a memorable one.
    "We have tried to balance the show with entertainment and information, and also wish to take forward the art of drama," informed Ms. Nita Mukherjee and Mr. Subhankar Mukherjee, Organizing Spokespersons, 'Khelaghar'.

A New Racing Star of India



FIA Accredited FORMULA4 SOUTH EAST ASIA RACING CHAMPIONSHIP  Round 2 was held at Sepang F1 International Circuit, Malaysia on  20th and 21st April.
ARYA  SINGH, son of Sri UMESH SINGH, Vice-President of KOLKATA KUSHWAHA KALYAN SANGH had successfully participated in this event, proudly representing India. On his first international debut, Arya Singh had secured 3rd position and was awarded along with the other winners in Podium. Arya got critical appreciation for his great skill. 
Before this proud moment, Arya's racing was limited within India in MRF F1600 NATIONAL RACING  CHAMPIONSHIP  and JK TYRE NATIONAL  RACING  CHAMPIONSHIP.

Allahabad Bank Celebrates 155 th Foundation Day

Allahabad Bank, a premier Nationalised Bank and the oldest amongst all Public Sector Banks of the country, celebrated its 155 th Foundation Day on 24th April, 2019. On the occasion, MD & CEO Shri CH S S Mallikarjuna Rao inaugurated the celebration at Head Office by lighting the ceremonial lamp and unveiled a specially designed mnemonic. Two Anchor Products - AllBank Kishore & AllBank GenX were launched on the occasion.  Speaking on the occasion, Shri CH S S Mallikarjuna Rao, MD and CEO of the Bank, stressed upon the need to rededicate ourselves to the transformation of the Bank into a customer - centric Bank with last mile connect driven by technology intertwined with robust process. "Akla Baishakh"







Eminent choreographer Indrani Ganguly, Founder of Sristi Dance Academy had presented a wonderful cultural program on 13th April afternoon at Birla Academy. "Akla Baishakh" was celebrated with a host of economically challenged yet talented students of Sahid Smriti Pathagar Prathomik Vidyalay.
  Their dance recitals regaled the audience that included a host of dignitaries including Director Paromita Munshi, dancer Avirup Sengupta, Megh Sayantan Ghosh, Mou Guha, Souvik Majumder, singer Arindam Mukherjee and others.

World Earth Day celebrated by The Global Academy

An Inter Faith Prayer Meet was organized by The Global Academy and Association of Alliance Clubs International at Pragyan Bhawan on 21st April eve. The Peace Forum was to commemorate World Earth Day and he appealed for fraternity and brotherhood to prevail amongst all corners of our society.     
     Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, President of The Global Academy said that simple and easy measures such as controlled use of water and electricity, cars and vehicles, planting trees, restriction on the use of plastic bags, reducing the use of paper, keeping the neighbourhood clean etc., can play a major role in maintaining and sustaining the earth, since earth is the only planet where life is possible. 
    Other great speakers such as Dr. Arunjyoti Bhikhu, Mr. Sukhnandan Singh Ahluwalia, Nemai Goswami, Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee, Dr. Sujata Bhattacharya, Ms. Suparna Mukherjee, Sofia Khan, Parvez Hashmi, Nandita Pathak, Unus Molla, Dr. Deepmala Das, Dr, Shabir Ali, M.A. Ali, Ehteshamul Haque, Fateh Alam, Ishtiaque Alam and many other dignitaries spoke on the occasion.
