'Colour Blind' - a short film by Debashish Ghosh

Pain is not good for the soul or necessarily leads to redemption. The Bengali short film 'Colour Blind', directed by Debashish Ghosh, throws light on racism of our society. The film is trying to make a different point. It emphasizes how people only see the world through the lenses of majority. The film also gives us a solution of how racial discrimination can be eradicated from the society by us.
The film mainly focuses on the protagonist character 'Sree' who is playing the victim of the society. Each shot has been exceptionally depicted and the way it has been portrayed is unusually different from recent short films. The character of 'Anirban' played by Debmalya Banerjee is worth mentioning who tells us about the long lasting oppression of racism which people need to examine. In here, he tries to convey how the jurisprudence of colour blindness of the society should link up with our concerns about race and difference. Surprisingly in the film, a board of carrom gives an answer of how we can be united equally and the way it has been shown is striking.
