EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, keen to bring back the feeling of ‘unity in diversity’ and to foster ‘national integration’, on October 31, 2015—on the occasion of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas—launched  an initiative called "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat".
The PM aptly chose to launch the programme to commemorate the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, the man who is known as the architect of a modern united India, saying : “Sardar Patel gave us Ek Bharat. It is now the solemn duty of 125 crore Indians to collectively make Shreshtha Bharat.”
The essential theme of the nation-wide Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign is to promote the country's unswerving spirit of national integration through a well-structured engagement between the states and the union territories (UTs).
The key objective of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is not only to celebrate the unity in diversity of our great nation by maintaining and strengthening the core fabric of existing people-to-people bond in the country, but also to showcase India's rich heritage and cultural diversity.
It has been put together primarily to make the people of the country to understand and learn to appreciate the diversity of India, essentially by fostering a sense of common identity ‘as one nation and the greatest nation’.
