'Puja Parikrama' for Elderly Homeless ladies was done on 4th Oct.,(Mahasathi) from CF Block Residential Puja Mandap, Salt Lake City. This unique 'Matri Aradhana' was organized by BOGS (Bengal Obstetric & Gynaecological Society).
This was the 2nd year venture on the part of Team BOGS. Dr Pradip Mitra, Past President of BOGS, had planned, initiated, organized & conducted the entire program, supported by President Dr. D. Banerjee, Secretary Dr. Zoha, senior members like Dr Bulbul Roychaudhuri & Dr Kalpana Sarkar. The elderly women were presented with 'Uttaria' as a mark of respect and student volunteers were also felicitated for their social service.
Around 45 mothers got their life time experience as they were taken from North Kolkata to East and then South and back to home at extreme North Kolkata. They were provided with all facilities like food and drinks.
Dr Manindranath Roy, CMC, was there throughout the journey to look after the mothers. Doctors Sakirupa & Suranjan Chakraborty had also joined this different 'Chinmoyee' Matri Bandana - a special event of BOGS.
