In the highly competitive publication business, The Impish Lass Publishing House with Ms. Meena Mishra as CEO, is making strides not just as a business house but as a window of opportunity to authors of all genres and ages across the country and also those aspiring to become writers of mettle!
To commemorate the first anniversary of the The Impish Lass Publishing House, a glittering function was organized at Payyade International Hotel, Kandivili (West), Mumbai, and attended by many eminent litterateurs, educationists, performers, authors and editors, writers and poets from all over India, on the auspicious Independence Day, 15th August, 2019, joining in the entire country’s festive, upbeat mood.
Commencing with a beautiful prayer song, the National Anthem and the traditional ‘Lighting of the Lamp’, what instantly captured the attention of the packed audience was the inaugural address of the Chief Guest, Dr. Rajagopala Chidambaram, renowned nuclear scientist and recipient of the ‘Padma Vibhushan’, which was sublimely simple, sparkled with wit as he introduced all the books. Mrs.Chella Chidambaram also accompanied Dr.R.Chidambaram.
Among the important literary events were the launch of the book ‘ Within the Cocoon of Love’ authored by Ms. Meena Mishra and co-authored by Mr.Vishwas Vaidya, and the release of the Anniversary Issue of the ‘Hat Tip’ book followed by the felicitation of the esteemed team of editors who refine the writers’ output– S.Krishna Kumar, Shubha Sagar, Samrudhi Dash, Smitha Matai, Renu Dhotre and those who were not present, Neeti Parti, Anwesha Ghosh and Madhu Jaiswal.
A session was devoted for honouring all the writers present with medals and certificates for their contributions. At the same time many established writers and eminent persons, invited as Special Guests, who have been supporting the cause, were also felicitated.
The culmination of the literary part of the function was the release of the sixteen books at the hands of the Chief Guest, CEO, Editors, Special Guests of Honour.
As part of the celebrations, to showcase the innate talents in many of the writers, an ‘Open Mic’ contest was held and prizes given to winners.
However, the major highlight of the cultural programme was the presence of two professional singers, Deepak Singh Bisht (known popularly as Sherry Singer) and Kavish Sheth – the former travelling all the way from Uttarakhand, to perform on stage with an amazing repertoire of patriotic songs, ghazals, light classical film numbers and a bit of pop music, to a highly appreciative audience!
The entire event lasting about four hours, was planned, conceived and presented with versatile brilliance and efficient coordination of the CEO, Ms Meena Mishra and the two veteran Editors/Writers S. Krishna Kumar and Shubha Sagar and ably supported by a team of dedicated associates.
