Overnight Category D leader Anshul Mishra completed a comfortable six stroke win over the rest of the field to score maximum order of merit points at the end of the Milky Moo Tolly Juniors, the first event of this season’s IGU East Zone Feeder & Sub Junior Tour at Tollygunge Club here.He carded a gross of seven-over 147 to leave Prashant Agarwal in second place followed by Biswakrit Ghosh who finished a distant third.
The other categories saw upsets with Ansh Arya taking home the A&B combined title with a second round 80 to win by four strokes over Anish Rajak. Raktim Ghosh (175) finished third a further six strokes behind edging out Harsh Vardhan Agarwala (176) to the podium places by a stroke. Overnight leader Aryav Shah had a day to forget as he finished fifth.
Ansh also won Category B event with Raktim & Aryav in second and third places.
Viranca Poddar took the order of merit lead after registering a two stroke win with a gross of 161 over Rishi Biswas in Category C. Aditya Khaitan was placed third a further two strokes behind at 165 followed by Ahaan Gupta in fourth at 168.
Varish Mohta helped himself to two birdies to finally leave the other contenders in his wake as he carded a 76 gross to win Category E. Hredaan Raj Bihani was placed second five strokes behind followed by Darshit Chaurasia a further five behind. Incidentally, all three started level at the start of the second round.
Amongst the girls, Kashissh Khanna survived an inspired fightback from Sana Hussain to complete a three stroke win in Category C which at one point got too close for comfort for the winner even though she was always in control of her destiny.
