Top seed in the Men's Open Doubles, Rohit Rampuria and Aditya Vardhan Roy Chowdhury survived a scare from wild card entrants Ram Kumar and Anurag Kedia at the opening round of the ongoing Calcutta Hard Court Tennis Championship 2019, been held at both the red clay and synthetic courts of the Calcutta South Club Ltd.
Top seed in Men's Open Doubles, Rohit Rampuria and Aditya Vardhan Roy Chowdhury dropped the opening set against wild card entrants by 3-6 and thereafter made a come back as they won the second set by an easy 6-1 to drag the match to a 10-point tie breaker. Here the top seeds got lucky as they won by a close 11-9 margin.
Unseeded Rohan Agarwal lifts the Boys Singles Under 18 title, defeating 15th seeded Anurag Kedia by a straight 6-2,6-3. Similar was the situation in the Girls Singles Under 18 category as Anoushka Singh got the better of 7th seeded Shireen Ahamed by a comfortable 6-0,6-4.
