7th International Data Science Summit, by far the largest and considered to be the best in its segment across India, was held on 20th September at Biswa Bangla Convention Center, Kolkata. City-based Data Science Foundation organized the Summit that was supported by NASSCOM, STPI and the West Bengal Government IT Department.
The Summit was inaugurated by Shri Debasish Sen, Govt. of West Bengal, Additional Chief Secretary, IT& E who was the chief guest on the occasion, in the presence of Mr. Nirupam Chaudhuri, Nasscom East – Head and Shri Gautam Banerjee President, Data Science Foundation.
This year's edition witnessed about 250 senior level delegates across different cities from the world. Gautam Banerjee, President Data Science Foundation, informed that the summit provided a platform to discuss applications, challenges and opportunities in Data Science & AI in corporate, government & social sector among practitioners, leaders and aspirants globally. DSF had rolled out the world’s first survey of its kind on ‘Data Science based Innovations’ across Mexico, Europe & India in collaboration with Zurich based consulting corporation LAA FOR 150+ Companies. The summit had opened possibilities of reputed companies from outside Bengal to collaborate with companies from Bengal in the field of Data Science through the summit, providing further fillip to the growing stature of the state and city as a powerhouse in the segment. Also, a couple of MoUs were signed during the event.
