On 25th April, 2019, Ruby General Hospital has stepped into its 25th year of service to the community. Ruby Hospital was founded by Dr. Kamal K. Dutta, who graduated from R. G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata and went to the US in 1976. Today, Ruby General Hospital is a 278 bedded, NABH accredited and ISO 9001 : 2015 certified multispecialty hospital. In the year 2015, Ruby General hospital has come up with Ruby Cancer Centre, providing state of the art affordable cancer care along with preventive, medical, surgical, radiation, and palliative oncology services. It is also the first NABH accredited cancer centre in West Bengal.
While, stepping into the 25th year, Dr. Kamal K. Dutta, Chairman and Managing Director has announced a further expansion of one lac square feet area which will include an additional 250 beds. An organ Transplant unit has also been planned including a Bone Marrow transplant unit.
Ruby General Hospital has also further announced to strengthen its academic wing. In addition to the Ruby School of Nursing, several courses will be introduced shortly, namely, DNB in another five specialties, Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM), Indian Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (IDCCN), Post MBBS Certificate course, Paramedical courses in four specialties.
Dr. Kamal K. Dutta, CMD, Ruby General Hospital had made a special announcement and launched a special scholarship program ‘DIPTI’, wherein, Rs. 15 lakhs will be awarded annually to the deserving meritorious students. Every year 20 post secondary students from economically weak background will be selected and provided a monthly scholarship for supporting their Class 11 & 12 studies.
