The Believers Eastern Church celebrated the Easter Sunday on 21st April, 2019 in all the Churches, over 400 Parishes those come under Kolkata Diocese in the State of West Bengal. Today early in the morning, the women wing of the Church went on a rally in Madhyamgram singing songs and sharing the joy of resurrection to the neighbors.
Early morning at 5 a.m., Easter Sunday Worship was held at St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Cathedral, Madhyamgram and Holy Communion (Holy Mass) was officiated by His Grace Justin Mor Thomas, Archbishop of the Kolkata Archdiocese for the faithful. Fr. Soumen Panda, the Vicar General, Fr. Sambhu Das, Fr. Barnbas N., Fr. Satyajit Samuel, the senior Priests assisted in the Holy Communion.
On this Holy occasion, the Archbishop Justin Mor Thomas, in his message to the faithful, affirmed that Resurrection of Jesus Christ is an historical event that reminds the Good News of God’s Love for one and all and through his death on the Cross and Resurrection, Jesus Christ, defeated the fear of evil, hatred and death, the enemy of humanity. Whoever believes in Jesus continue to experience the power of resurrection, victory over evil and enjoy the inner peace and hope in life.
The Diocese also today distributed the gift of tricycle to differently-abled persons and Saree to the widows and needy mothers in Madhyamgram, Purulia, Islands and Buniyadpur, sharing the love and joy of Risen Christ, who loves all.
BELIEVERS EASTERN CHURCH undertakes community based varied socio-economic Developmental, educational and medical activities especially, in remote pockets, rural areas and city slums, helping the most underprivileged, poorest of poor and marginalized sections of the society. Service to 700 Widows in the Islands and 2340 people affected by leprosy 38 colonies of Purulia, Adra, Bankura, Asonsole and Dhanbad are noteworthy.
