A Press Meet was organized at Press Club, Kolkata by 'Freelance Foundation', a registered charity dedicated to Freelancers and Freelancing. The event witnessed the formal launch of the monthly print magazine “Freespace” dedicated for Freelancers and Freelancing.
While talking about the heritage, history and horoscope of the Foundation, Chairman Pritam Bhattacharyya (alias Pritam B Wordsmith) explained the genesis of the Foundation when he launched a translation and cross-cultural consulting company called Wordsmith Communication in the UK while studying in Strathclyde Business School as a British Chevening Scholar in 2005-06.
Speaking about 'Freespace', Chief Editor and GBC Subhasis Chatterjee narrated how Freespace was started first as a quarterly and then it was decided last winter to start this as a monthly Print magazine that will connect freelancers to projects and businesses to skills in the rapidly changing structure and mode of work and employment.
