The Global Academy, in collaboration with International Institute of Lifestyle Management, under the auspices of Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, its President, organized an International Seminar to discuss this pressing issue of lifestyle diseases on 6th April, 2019, on the occasion of United Nation’s World Health Day at Hotel Hindusthan International, Kolkata.
The Seminar emphasized on the critical need for Holistic Diagnosis and Treatment where emphasis should be not on the short-term treatment of the lifestyle disease at hand, but identification of the cause of such lifestyle disease and eliminating the cause in entirety, which is the only way to achieve healing and enhanced health.
Focusing on Universal Health Coverage, World Health Organization’s number one goal, the Seminar was attended by more than 200 spirited and enthusiastic participants from around the country and different parts of the world.
Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, President of The Global Academy, remarked:- “The Global Academy wants to create awareness about lifestyle diseases being caused by wrong food habits, lack of physical activity, sleeping disorders, wrong interpretation of relaxation, and several other modern day stress factors.Almost half of the chronic diseases of the modern times, namely the lifestyle diseases, such as type 2 diabetesmellitus, cardiovascular diseases, obesity and several mental diseases are the results of wrong interpretation of lifestyle practices.”
The Seminar was attended by several stalwarts, including the veteran sportsperson, Dr. Crompton Dutta, who was also the Chief Guest of the event, besides Rev. Bishop Samuel Pavana Raju, Buddhist Monk Dr. Arunjyoti Mahathero, Dr. Nyassinara from Myanmar, Mr. Md. Fatah Alam, Mr. Baljit Singh Grewal, Mr. Md. Ehtashmul Siddiquie Haque, Swami Uttamananda Ji, Mr. Dinesh Chand Gangwal, Mr. Ishtiaque Alam, renowned physician Dr. Pawan Sharma of Emami Group of companies, Dr. Shabbir Ali from Medical College & Hospital, Prof. Dr. Sujoy Biswas of Techno India Group, renowned HR Counsellor Mr. Digbijoy Chakrabarty and Advocate Mr. Pratik Majumder, to name a few.
The Seminar also received global coverage, made possible by the presence of renowned French journalist, Ms. Didhiti Ghosh.
The event received its closing remarks by Mr. Chandan Agarwal, CEO of Pragyan International University, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
