BITM organized a panel discussion on ‘Containing Novel Coronavirus’ today. The panel experts were Dr. Madhumita Dobe, Director-Professor, Department of Health Promotion & Education, All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, Kolkata and Dr. Ramendra Narayan Chaudhuri, Director-Professor, Department of Public Health Administration, All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, Kolkata and Ms. Mitali Palodhi, Consultant Nutritionist & Dietician, National Vice-President, Indian Dietetic Association, Bengal Chapter. 210 students from Jodhpur Park Boys’ School, Pranta Pally Balika Vidyalaya, Kasba Chittaranjan High School, Lady Brabourne College and Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College participated.
The aim of the discussion was to expand scientific knowledge on this new virus, to track its spread and virulence, and to provide advice to individuals on measures to protect health and prevent the spread of this outbreak. A question-answer session followed.
