PANAGARH MILITARY STATION GOES GREEN

Lt Gen Anil Chauhan, GOC-in-C Eastern Command inaugurated and dedicated a 3 MW Solar Power Project, constructed by Brahmastra Corps at Panagarh Military Station. The project has the distinction of being the largest solar power project in Army’s Eastern Command and is part of the ‘National Solar Mission’. It has been constructed at a cost of ₹ 23.3 crores on over 10 acres of defence land.
The objectives of this solar plant have been to achieve electrical energy self-sufficiency and to boost indigenous production of solar cells & modules, contributing to the ‘Make in India’ vision. The power generated will cater for the electricity requirements of Panagarh Miliary Station and will contribute towards bringing down the electricity tariff of Panagarh Military Station by approximately 40%, accruing substantial savings to the exchequer.
