To motivate young school children to join Indian Navy, Indian Navy will set up a permanent TU 142 aircraft museum in Kolkata on the lines of the Vizag Naval museum, said Naval Officer-in-Charge, West Bengal, Commodore Suprobho De. He informed that land for the above museum has been allocated in New Town and work has already stated. He was briefing the media on the eve of Navy Day celebrations here today. He reiterated that Indian Navy is committed to protect Indian coasts.
Captain N Hariharan, Chief Staff Officer (Operation, West Bengal) informed that theme of this year’s Navy Day is “Indian Navy-Silent, Strong and Swift” and as part of Navy Week Celebrations, two Navy warships of the Eastern Fleet will be open for organized visit at Kolkata Port (Kidderpore Docks) by school children from 9 am to 5 pm on 13th and 14th December.
