In the First round played on Tuesday, Niklas Schell of Germany upset top seed Dennis Upensky from USA in straight sets. After winning the first set, Niklas did not let the top seed to come back in the match putting pressure with his groundstrokes and Upensky was falling on wrong foot most of the times. In another exciting match local boy, Ishaque Eqbal won the first set at 6-3, but Taha Kapadia came back strongly to put lot f pressure on ishaques serve to win easily the next two sets at 6-1, 6-2.
