New Commander Coast Guard

Inspector General Anil Kumar Harbola, TM assumed charge of Commander Coast Guard Region (North East) from Inspector General Rajan Bargotra, who has assumed charge as Coast Guard Commander (Western Seaboard) at Mumbai on promotion to the rank of Adtl. Director General. Inspector General Anil Kumar Harbola is a 1988 batch Direct Entry Coast Guard officer. A silver medalist from Kumaun University, Nainital in his Post Graduation in Physics, he also holds Master’s degree in Management Studies from Osmania University and that in Security and Strategic Studies from Madras University. Having completed his ab initio military training from Indian Naval Academy, he later specialised in ‘Naval Communication’. Over the years in the Indian Coast Guard, he has served approximately 16 years in sea going appointments in almost all the types of ships held with Indian Coast Guard.
