Veteran journalist and writer Soma Bhattacharjee had celebrated Babasaheb Ambedkar's 130th Birthday and Bengali New Year in a special manner.
At Dumdum Chasi Para, Soma Bhattacharjee took other social workers like Soumit Majumdar, Sanjeeb Majumder, Pintu Das, Kesto Podo Sardar, Soilen Makar and others distributed 200 ml cooking oil in 120 houses of needy people.
Soma Bhattacharjee, inspired by a song of Anjan Dutta and the words of the immortal Ambedkar says, "I have no hand in the religion that I have attained at the time of birth, but I will perform religiously in lifetime and will do the best for all. Ambedkar had taken up Buddhism and had been a great social activist, embracing people of all caste and creed. Babasaheb's drafted Constitution is very much the need of the hour."
Other social workers present with Soma mentioned the need for peace and harmony during this troubled times. They also praised the work of great visionaries like Charu Mazumder, Kanu Sanyal and others.
