St. Xavier's College NCC is going to organise the fifth version of "Khel", an inter battalion annual sports meet on 28th March, 2020 in the college campus.
SXCNCC will host teams from 17 colleges and battalions of Kolkata and nearby districts with a footfall on the D-Day expected to be around 800. The events that will be held include: Football (unisex), Kho-Kho, Basketball, Throwball, Shot Put, Long Jump, Volleyball, Track events, Badminton, Tug-of-war, Relay race and the brand new "Ragda Race" which is a series of front rolls, push ups, frog jumps, cow walk and sprint.
Through "Khel", SXCNCC takes a step to inculcate a sense of sportsmanship apart from unity and discipline among its cadets. It shows that NCC is not limited to rigourous drill and endless "ragdas" only. Alongwith "Unity and Discipline", it also believes in "All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy."
