Community Level Arsenic Removal Plant

As per World Health Organization (WHO) drinking water standards, acceptable limit of arsenic content in drinking water is 10µg/l (10ppb).
Current remediation technologies for removal of arsenic from groundwater are quite expensive, requires huge investment, maintenance etc. and the system is also running by electrical power and also by use of chemicals.

Keeping in view of these shortcomings and need for a robust low cost technology, CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur,West Bengal has developed community level arsenic removal Plant using naturally available geo-material for arsenic removal from groundwater.
