The Unknown Spring (Onnyo Ek Basanta)

The Unknown Spring (Onnyo Ek Basanta) is an experimental bilingual (English/Bengali) short film shot in Limerick, Ireland, and Kolkata in the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic. It attempts to capture some of the many perspectives towards this global crisis. The film has been formulated as a Facebook dialogue between its makers Abhishek Ganguli (Kolkata, India) and Paromita Sengupta (Limerick, Ireland).
What starts as a conversation the two filmmakers discussing how their upcoming projects had to be shelved, moves on to encompass a wider view of the terrifying experiences the entire world is going through and the learnings we have realized from this crisis.  Shot with minimal filming gear and zero technical crew, the film also features seven-year-old twins Oishi and Oishani (Ireland).
The Film is a joint creative collaboration of  CINEMA FOR A CAUSE (Kolkata, India) and FILMITA (Limerick, Ireland).
